By convening a steering committee comprised of stakeholder representatives and piloting its recommendations, advocates invested in advancing “Everyday Lives” for individuals with intellectual and development disabilities were successful in eliminating the staffing grid, a tool which is commonly used by state intellectual disability departments to determine staffing levels, and replacing it with an innovative approach to ensure appropriate levels of services and supports.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Social Innovations Journal}, author={Annerhed-Harris, Karen}, year={2020}, month={Apr.} }
